What is the difference between Assisted Living and comprehensive nursing care?
Assisted Living is a senior housing opportunity that fills the gap between living independently in one?s own home and moving to a nursing center. It is designed for people who are having difficulty managing at home by themselves ? people who need a modest amount of help with the everyday activities of living, but do not require nursing care. Residents of Assisted Living at Las Ventanas receive 24-hour care and supervision
Comprehensive nursing care is for people who do not need to be in an acute-care setting such as a hospital, but who need 24-hour supervision and treatment by licensed medical personnel. In some cases, comprehensive nursing care is required only briefly such as after a surgical procedure.
Are pets allowed in assisted living?
Yes, furry companions are allowed based on the resident being able to care for it.
Are guests allowed to stay overnight?
Yes, in fact Las Ventanas Assisted Living provides a guest suite for residents? visitors. Reservations can be made at the Resident Service Desk. Guests are also welcome to stay in their loved ones? residences.
Is my loved one required to use the Las Ventanas medical director as their physician?
Assisted Living and comprehensive nursing residents are welcome to use our medical director as their primary physician. Our medical director will make weekly visits to Las Ventanas Health Services to see residents requiring attention, which eliminates the stress of scheduling doctor?s appointments and the long wait in a doctor?s office. However, families are welcome to utilize medical care from any local physician. Our staff will follow the recommendations and medical orders prescribed by the physician to ensure the best possible care for your loved one.
What types of events will be offered to keep residents active?
To ensure a well-rounded lifestyle, residents of Assisted Living and comprehensive nursing care can choose to participate in a variety of daily activities. A full-time director of events and activities is dedicated to creating a meaningful schedule of cultural, social, physical and spiritual activities.
